SekuLab is the nickname of the new lab.
History wall(history of automation)
The History Wall Consists of display conveying the history of the automation of pathology specimen preparation. The exhibits include M&KATERA. the first made-in Japan microscope as a commercial use. Which has been registered as an important historical object by the National Museum of Nature and Science(Future Engineering Heritage).
Reception with pathology information system.
Fixation, grossing, processing and embedding
The devices in this room are used for all processes from fixation to embedding. For processing and embedding. Try both conventional and the latest, fully automatic devices.
Sectioning and stretching
The sectioning room, controlled at a temperature suitable for sectioning. Take the sectioning training with a desired microtome type; a conventional sliding microtome, a ball-bearing type sliding microtome or rotary microtomes.
SmartSection, a fully automated continuous sectioning instrument, fully automates the entire process of trimming, sectioning, slide printing, stretching and drying.
Preparation of frozen sections
Experience frozen section procedures by opening our cryostat and using tools and consumables for frozen block preparation which is important to produce proper frozen sections.
Staining and coverslipping
Try an automated slide stainer and glass coverslippers and film coverslipper. Instruments for handdyeing practice are also available for basic procedures.
Microscopic observation and digital imaging
By optical microscope, digital microscope, or digital scanner, microscopic slides can be viewed, scanned and capture digital image. Live images from remote site also can be viewed via the network.
Dedicated devices for smearing as well as staining, coverslipping and microscopic observation are available.
Large screen and audio equipment
A large screen and audio equipment located at the center of the laboratory are available for workshops and lectures in a large group. The screen is prepared for sharing live images from our digital microscope or information data displayed on separate monitor in the laboratory.
A lounge is available for taking a break or having a meal during a workshop. It can also serve as a place for reviewing pathology related reference materials. The wall-mounted monitor can be used to hold a small-group lecture.
Two lecture rooms are available. One for 6 persons, one for 10 persons.
Service Training Room
This special room is for service training only and wide enough to access an instrument to be serviced from every direction enabling you to receive in-depth maintenance training.
