Constant Challenges To Build A Prosperous Future

Cancer is the leading cause of death in Japan with a mortality rate of over 300,000 people annually. (*1) One in two men and one in three women are diagnosed with cancer during their lifetime, and one in four men and one in six women will die of cancer. (*2) For the proper diagnosis and treatment of many diseases including cancer, pathological diagnosis serves an important role in the definitive diagnosis and treatment. Pathological examinations are also commonly performed in various scientific fields such as drug discovery and research.

Sakura Finetek Japan Co., Ltd., since its establishment in 2001, continually seeks new challenges to improve the future of pathology. We are a total solution provider who plays a significant role in specimen preparation, pathological examination and diagnosis. In addition to developing innovative new products and providing customers with reliable, high quality products, our mission is not only to provide customers with products but to offer technical training, and application services which assist in the day-to-day complete preparation and automation of histology and cytology specimens.

In addition to our broad product portfolio, to maximize customer satisfaction which is our primary goal we are extending customer support programs including offering pathology-related information and science material through a variety of channels such as the digital workshop “Hyohon-Dojo” on our website, the publication entitled “Histo-Logic Japan”, telephone support services named “Support Line” and “Pathology Emergency Call #110”, and our hands-on training laboratory named “Lab-Square”. We will further enhance these support programs to make them more useful and valuable for customers. We established the Sakura Pathological Technology Prize in 2009 for the advancement of pathological technologies to improve technical skills in the field of pathology.

In conjunction with our affiliated group companies, Sakura Seiki Co., Ltd., Sakura Engineering Co., Ltd., Sakura Finetek U.S.A., Inc. for North America and Sakura Finetek Europe B.V. for Europe, South America and Africa, we will further expand our global business and respond to customers needs and trends.

The role that pathology shall play in the advancement of medical care has been becoming crucial. In order to build the future of pathology, in other words it is to build the future of medical care, we will continue providing highly reliable and quality products and support programs through continuing company innovation.
